Open Invitation!!
I invite everyone, friends, family, all EFX’ers, and everyone else to follow me at the online magazine Examiner, or, http://examiner.com I’ve been hired as the Dauphin County Republican Examiner. And yep…it’s a paying gig and I’m diggin’ on it! Below is the link to my second published article. I’ll be doing strictly political commentary, however, sadly for me I won’t be adding my personal feelings or opinions. And everyone that knows me knows that I’m not at all shy about speaking up.
I haven’t been posting in a while as my house was turned into a half hospital room and half nursery, as my girlfriend’s daughter had her first child but with complications for her. Born is a boy, Jayden Colby Baron Kock, weighing in at 8lbs. 4oz’s. He is healthy as can be with all ten fingers, ten toes, and a couple of healthy lungs! To be sure. So for almost a month we were the only ones that could adequately provide home nursing care. We had to learn how to change her dressings, and repack this huge opening, (as best I can describe), where she had a C-Section. The opening developed an infection which had the doctors taking out the staples long before they were due to come out.
They let her go after a couple of days pumping her full of industrial strength antibiotics and a morphine drip. The nurses taught my girlfriend and I how to do what I still feel they should have been doing. I believe they let her go way too early, just to get the bed, you know, new patient more money! So….that’s been part of the deal plus I had to get some work in as well, then this deal came along and I took their tests and completed a background check, and once that was done I was cleared to start publishing. It’s a pretty cool magazine in that it has all kinds of different choices and categories to choose from, whatever you’re interested in, from politics to travel and leisure, to dining, to hotspots….you name it, it’s there. I’ll still be posting here for sure and may if I can copy from my articles and post them here…I think I can do that.

Thanks Del…I think we need as much recovery as the little mother does, we’re not used to putting on sterile gloves, cleaning out wounds with saline solutions, and it was a big and very deep cut. Then we would have to put on new gloves in order to repack the wound with a soaked gauze thingy, and then tape a big pad across it. We were doing it individually, like taking turns but it sure as hell was easier with two people!
But she’s home now with baby and seems to be doing well and we’re putting our home back together as it was, which is quite comforting.
